The Beginning

Fri Nov 20, 2009, 7:53 AM
Even though I've been a professional artist for some time now I still feel like I'm at the beginning of my career. You will probably be looking at my work and thinking what is he talking about well I’ll explain. We all endeavor to produce the best work we can with our chosen subjects and materials, It’s a battle to create the work we see in our minds. I have now reached the point were the technique is still relevant but not the driving force behind my work, the subject is now key. Over the next few years I will endeavor to produce work that explores the emotions and feeling I have about the world around me. All that has been produced so far in my life has lead to this point and has its own significance but its now time to show the world who I really am through my work. Some of the work you see here says a lot about myself some doesn’t, so I’m going to have a few solo exhibitions over the next 12 months to introduce people back to my work. The first will be in my Restaurant [link] on the 1st of December 2009 with a mixture of old and new work. The title of the shows The Beginning will contain everything I have in print and originals left in my collection.

i've been looking around dA for artists who use colored pencils..having seen your gallery it amazes me how versatile colored pencils are as a drawing/painting medium..more power and success to you..
:iconsormerod:
As a medium they can give you everything control, texture, random effects and vibrancy. You have to be prepared to mix differant types of coloured pencils to give you the colour range and soluble properties. My recommendatios are Derwent Drawing, Derwent Inktence and derwent graphitint but aviod chestnut, meddow green, autum brown and ocean blue they all fade quite badly in the graphitint range. Happy drawing hope this information helps.
